There are some sessions that just hit a little deeper—and this one was definitely one of them.

I recently had the absolute privilege of photographing two incredible graduates from University of Houston–Clear Lake, and this session was extra special for me in more ways than one. Not only is UHCL my own alma mater—where I earned my bachelor’s degree—but these two amazing women are also cousins, graduating side by side.

And let me tell you… their session was full of joy, laughter, and so much meaning.

These ladies are both earning their degrees in education, and their decision to celebrate together made this session even more powerful. There’s something so special about honoring not just your own journey, but doing it alongside someone who’s walked a similar path with you.

What makes their accomplishment even more inspiring is that they didn’t take the “traditional” route—and that’s exactly what makes their story so important.

They’ve balanced life, responsibilities, and raising families while pursuing their education. And now, they’re not just walking across that stage—they’re showing their children firsthand what perseverance, dedication, and hard work really look like.

They are living proof that it’s never too late to chase your goals.

Never too late to grow.
Never too late to level up.
And never too late to create a life you’re proud of.

As a photographer—and as someone who once walked the same campus—it meant so much to capture this milestone for them. These are the moments that deserve to be celebrated in a big way.

I am beyond proud of these two and so excited to see the impact they’re going to make in the world of education. This is just the beginning of an incredible new chapter.
