Senior year is full of exciting milestones, and senior photos are one of the most memorable. One of the biggest questions I get from senior girls and their moms is: What should I wear for my senior pictures?

The right outfit can make a huge difference in how confident you feel in front of the camera and how timeless your portraits look.

As a senior photographer, I usually recommend bringing three different looks to your session so we can create variety in your gallery.

1. Something that represents your personality, hobbies, or everyday style.

Examples:

  • Boots and jeans

  • A band tee

  • Athletic gear

  • A favorite sweater

These images often end up being the most meaningful.

2. Something Dressy

A flowy dress or more elevated outfit photographs beautifully and creates movement in photos.

These outfits often feel more classic and timeless, which parents tend to love.

3. Something Casual

Casual outfits create relaxed, natural portraits.

Think:

  • jeans

  • a cute top

  • sneakers or sandals

Another super important thing to consider… Accessories!!

Accessories are one of the easiest ways to create different looks without changing your entire outfit.

Adding simple pieces like:

  • earrings

  • layered jewelry

  • sunglasses

  • hats

  • denim jackets

can instantly change the feel of an outfit and add personality to your photos.

To make planning easier, I created a Senior Girl Style Board with outfit ideas and accessories that photograph beautifully.
