Miranda and AJ walking hand-in-hand beneath the trees, surrounded by soft spring light.
There’s something magical about a spring evening session at Hermann Park… even when it happens during one of the busiest weeks of the year.
This engagement session took place right in the middle of spring break in Houston—which meant the park was absolutely packed. Families, kids, picnics, joggers… you name it. At first glance, you’d think getting quiet, romantic engagement photos would be impossible.
But here’s the secret: it’s all about the angles.
With a little creativity and intention, we were able to capture images that feel like Miranda and AJ had the entire park to themselves. And honestly? That’s one of my favorite parts of photographing at Hermann Park—no matter how busy it gets, there are always pockets of beauty and calm waiting to be found.

Why Hermann Park is Perfect for Engagement Photos
If you’re searching for the best engagement photo locations in Houston, Hermann Park should be at the very top of your list.
This session is the perfect example of why:
Seasonal blooms – The azaleas were absolutely stunning during this shoot, adding soft pops of color and a true spring feel
Wooded, natural backdrops – Quiet, tree-filled areas create a romantic, intimate vibe
Mature oak-lined paths – Those huge, sprawling trees give such a timeless Southern feel
Urban variety – Just steps away, you can incorporate cityscapes for a completely different look
Iconic water features – The reflecting pool adds elegance and depth to any gallery
One location, endless variety—which means your engagement gallery feels diverse, full, and completely unique.
A Session Close to My Heart
This session was especially meaningful to me.
Miranda isn’t just a client—she’s someone I’ve known her entire life. Her dad and my husband have been friends since they were kids, which means I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow up.
So getting to photograph this season of her life… celebrating her engagement to AJ… it’s something I don’t take lightly.
I’m beyond happy for the two of them and cannot wait to be there on their wedding day later this year.
